Iron Works Tavern - Warwick, RI

I haven't posted here in a while since the winter did not entice me to try new places. However, yesterday for Easter, my family of five did try a new place on a strong rec from a couple I know : The Iron Works Tavern on Jefferson Boulevard in Warwick (near the airport parking garage). I have to say - what a great find!

I did make the reservations three weeks ago, and the gentleman (Bill) was very gracious and accommodating - far from what I found at a number of restaurants when I called looking for a place. They offered brunch or dinner buffet (4 - 7pm) and we opted for the dinner buffet, not really wanting to be around too many kids during the brunch earlier in the day.

For $30 pp, the food was delicious, the offerings were spectacular. It was not your ordinary holiday brunch serving a quantity of 'fill-up food', it was more focused and quality food (raw bar, antipasto, seafood offerings, vegetarian offerings, traditional ham and roast beef).

We got seated within a few minutes of our reservations (we did arrive about 15 minutes early), after a quick walk around with the hostess to show us where everything was on the buffet. Service was top-notch, as our waiter and his assistant were quick to clear our plates, re-fill our beverages, brings us new utensils without ever asking. Though I don't drink, my other companions said their drinks were delicious (martinis, I believe) and reasonably priced.

The atmosphere was a tad bit on the loud side, I believe because of the big open space, but not interruptive. It was a festive atmosphere - and everyone seemed to be having a great time. One of my companions is looking for a place for her wedding rehearsal dinner later in the summer - I believe she found the place last night, as she was going over the calendar with one of the managers (I believe she's going to be taking the upstairs, where it's for private parties). She was very impressed with the place.

I don't recall any reviews here, so I wanted to share the great experience. I, for one, look forward to returning for dinner or lunch sometime in the near future. The everyday menu looked tempting.
