Interesting Find near Washington, VA

I was out in Washington, VA, this weekend to attend an open house and Japanese maple sale and found myself utterly starving as we faced the return journey. Thus I asked the host of the open house for a recommendation of a place to grab something, and he recommended Ecow, a nursery cum gourmet store cum restaurant on Route 211 just a bit north of the town of Washington.

The place has an amazingly broad selection of gourmet products, including a nice range of wines, frozen products, local dairy products, etc, and their sandwich list is very adventuresome, including a great fried Ipswich clam wrap (for $6.99). If anyone finds themself in Washington without a reservation for a meal at the Inn, Ecow seems to be a very worthy alternative (and MUCH cheaper!).
