Is the instant pot for people who are too busy to make a stew on the stove or is it truly a great addition to the kitchen? I have made three very different recipes in the pot. They all looked great and everything was cooked. It’s the taste that I have a problem with.
When I make a stew in my Le Creuset, it takes 2 hours to get the consistency and flavor I want, but I have the option of adding spices etc. when I want to. The beef stew made in the instant pot was “ready” in 40 minutes with pressure reduction time, but really tasted bland and boring. Adding hot sauce just made it spicy and crappy. Same with the Indian recipe and the chicken and dumplings.
Frankly, I think this item is for the mundane cook.
