I've always thought that people who use grocery delivery services like PeaPod or whatever were just lazy. Today I joined that club. I live in a 3rd floor apartment by myself and I'm tired of hauling everything up 2 flights of stairs. I try to carry it all at once which makes the experience even more miserable.
I was nervous about having someone else select my groceries but it went pretty well. The shopper texted me to ask if she could substitute one type of butter lettuce for another. She also texted me about not finding a certain type of hot dogs but I told her I didn't order any hot dogs. I guess she was doing a couple of orders at once. She also texted me to confirm my address. Instacart kept me informed much like Uber does--shopper is at the store, on the way to your residence, order has been delivered, etc.
There were 2 mistakes. Regular seltzer for coconut seltzer and broccoli slaw for regular cole slaw mix. The packaging is very similar for both and things could have been stocked in the wrong spot on the shelf. I'm not making a big deal about it or complaining. If it was that important I'd just get my butt to the store myself to get what I need.
I'm VERY happy with the service and will definitely use it again.
