Old inn/restaurant with really good food

cupfish | Sep 12, 2002 08:30 AM

Looking for an old N.E. inn or restaurant that's not too...to put it kindly, packed with the blue hair crowd, and has yummy food. Wayside Inn has a nifty tap room with fireplace for cocktails, but dining room fare was pretty bland, we thought. What about the Colonial Inn in Concord? Any thoughts on where to find a classic old restaurant that's not too seafoody (guest coming to town HATES seafood)--so Union Oyster Hse is out. Durgin Park too casual...anyone been to Sherborn Inn? Other thoughts.

Or....should we use our $100 Morton's gift certificate toward a classic high-end meal? (that's my vote, but hey -- who listens to me anyways??)

thx
