Need info on a Korean dessert

AC | Mar 8, 2006 11:28 AM

I spied a table of three enjoying this particular dessert at Shilla Bakery (on Little River Turnpike in Annandale) several months ago, while I was waiting for my boba tea.

It appeared to be an unholy mountain of shaved ice possibly topped with one or more types of sweet beans, and arrayed with various fruits including possibly watermelon. It looked like it might be the Korean version of Ice Kachang, only 5 times larger.

I don’t recall seeing it listed on their menu, and would like to know what it’s called so that I can try it out next time I’m there. Also, if anyone knows some or all of the constituent parts of this dessert, then that would be great, too. I'm sure other Korean establishments in the area must offer something similar.
