Need inexpensive birthday dinner

GGG | Mar 8, 2006 11:45 AM

The fam is coming to DC to celebrate a birthday, and the pensioner folks will insist on paying for dinner. So I'm trying to think of somewhere with a nice and/or celebratory atmosphere that won't break the bank. Above-average food is fine - last time they came, we all had a very good time at the Old Ebbitt Grill, but I'd like to take them somewhere else. (Maybe I should just steer them to a Clydes and not mention the connection!) I guess Ebbitt would be the standard. Any suggestions for places I might try? They don't eat "ethnic" food other than Chinese and Indian, and I don't like Indian. Thanks!
