Just a quick note regarding our weekend in Indy. Yats--prices still dirt cheap at $5 per plate but a very limited menu. I am a huge fan of etouffee--special was spinach and mushroom. Taste was good but the ratio of entree to rice was off--not nearly enough rice (if you can believe it)compared to amount of etouffee. We would eat there again.
Tavola di Tosa--highly overrated! We decided it was more of a place to be seen than anything else. The menu was 100% yuppie (and I hate that word but there's no other appropriate term). I had the rigatoni with cauliflower, pine nuts and raisins--pasta was cooked well but no flavor to the dish. Hubby had pasta rags with lobster---again, no flavor. Will not return.
Cafe Patouche (not sure about the spelling) on 49th and Pennsylvania. Absolutely wonderful breakfast. Daily special omelette was bacon, horseradish and gouda--excellent. Portions were perfect. Crowded but the line moved quickly. Serve yourself coffee while you wait.
By the way, I love this board. Thanks for all the recommendations!
