Last Tuesday I needed a serious walk at lunch and was craving sushi so I decided to give Mikuni a try. It is pretty impressive if you like large, noisy restaurants with lots of activity. They have three (maybe more) sushi bars so seating at 11:50 am was not a problem. Dinner time must be really hectic and noisy.
I have not been to the Mikuni on Hazel in ages so I was completely overwhelmed by the choice of rolls. I ordered one roll with eel and spicy hawaiin (poki) style tuna and another that had tuna, salmon and shrimp. Both were very fresh but not very remarkable. The guy next to me ordered an assortment of Nigiri which I regretted not doing. I think I've grown weary of rolls and will revert back to what attracted me to sushi in the first place.
The things I did like about Mikuni was the freshness of the sushi, the attentive service and how quickly I got in and out of there. I'm sure if I went a pay day Friday it would take longer.
