After nearly 10 years of being spoiled by my gas range, I have moved to a new condo. The association rules do not allow for a gas line or propane tank to be installed (we are on conservation land). So I have been making do with the crappy ceramic top Hotpoint that came with the kitchen (and the useless vent that doesn't actually vent outside...whole 'nother issue!). I am preparing to upgrade the range and am looking for suggestions about brands/models of induction ranges that people have had success with. Am I going to find success with a typical brand (ex. GE, Kitchen Aid, etc.) that I might find at a Sears or Home Depot or do I need to go more kitchen specialty store shopping and look at other brands (Bertazzoni comes to mind)? I am willing to go up to $4.5K (including installation) for the right model. I cook almost nightly, so the new range will generally get a thorough weekly workout.

I am also tagging this to Boston, since that's the area I'm in, for purchasing purposes.

Edit to add - This will be replacing a 30" slide in unit.
