I recently picked up one of the induction cooktops hoping to take it to the future trip but wow, I am already using it everyday. I simmered tomato sauces on it and it didn't make the kitchen hot which is a huge plus in summer. I took it out to my deck to cook bacon and other fatty meat which means less greasy cleanup in the house. I boiled pasta and the water boiled so much faster than my gas oven. I love it!
