Just got home after trying many dishes there. It turns out the event was held outside which was nice because the weather was perfect. I was able to find a couple of chowhunds who recognized my T-shirt.
First the rice plates:
Tried Nasi Rames (combo plate) - good spicy chicken (sweating hot) with chicken & beef satays.
Nasi Dendeng-rice, deep fried thin sliced beef marinated in dark spicy sauce, tempeh in a sweet spicy sauce, tiny fishes/anchovies and peanuts in very sticky sweet spicy sauce. This is excellent.
Then the appetizers:
Lemper-glutinous rice with spiced chicken wrapped in banana leaf. Very aromatic rice and good filling. Another homerun.
Risoles- similar to egg-roll but made with soft dough and also filled with carrots and bits of meat. The outer skin is dusted with bread crumbs. Very good and taste authentic.
Pepes udang - shrimps and aromatic spices wrapped in banana leaf and steamed or baked (?). Another winner.
There are many others but I let the others to report also their own experience. Many of the stalls offer the same food but some are definitely better than others. I missed some foods that were present last year but were not offered this year. But there were many new ones offered this year as well.
After 3 hours of eating, we left around noon. The event was pretty well organized. It even has a live band and another live DJ music. Those of you who did not make it - well try again next time. It's great.
