I'm mystified by how India House (7th Avenue) has stayed afloat all of these years. I think it's a grease palace. And why has no other enterprising Indian or Pakistani restauranteur jumped in to pick up the slack? Fifth Avenue is pretty costly now, but for years, it was the perfect venue for a good, inexpensive to moderate Indian restaurant. There's no way it could have missed in this neighborhood. Even now, I think it would work.
