I'm considering organizing an Indian/Pakistani chowdown to celebrate my moving into an apt near San Pablo and University in West Berkeley at the end of August or in September. There are a lot of Indian places (and Kabana, which is Pakistani) near there and I imagine that there are other ones outside Berkeley that I don't know about.
I'm thinking of doing a thing similar to the BBQ ChowDown, where we bring a mess of dishes and just sample them all and have a blind taste test, et cetera.
1) Would people be interested?
2) Should I just downgrade this to a taqueria-hopping-type event where we get small items from place to place?
3) Can we get a location (à la in the basement of Sur La Table for the BBQ ChowDown in Dec. 2001) ?
