Restaurants & Bars 7

Indian-Dhaba (on Brighton Ave. , Allston) has been open for about a month now and I'm grateful that it was recently mentioned on this board as someone's cheap favorite. We've tried this small place twice now and love it. I'm a sucker for the lamb rogan josh and my wife has enjoyed the vegetable biryani. Our just-back-from-Dijon-student-son liked the chicken tikka masala but would have preferred a dozen escargot and a bottle of burgundy. The two cooks do great sauces: colorful, nicely textured, as well as tasty, and wholly unlike the pools of oil that are found in all too many cheapo Indian restaurants. We also liked their breads.

Also have to make note of the sweetheart of a guy who waits on tables. I suspect that he's the lead investor in the place. Treats you as if you're a favorite relative.

For those hounds in the diplomatic corps, you'll be pleased to learn that if there are between 30 and 400 in your party there is "Catering Delivery available for individuals, companies, and embassies."
