I see May Ploy Thai Curry Paste in most stores these days. In my nearby Asian grocery store they sell the 14oz. container for 4-5 dollars. It is very dense and a little goes a long way. I keep on hand red, green & yellow & matsaman. Are there Indian equivalents of this available? I see Patak brand but this is very loose & watery so you need a lot to make a single curry dish. Do Indian cooks use store bought pastes or do they all make their own from scratch?
