I happened to come across this restaurant on my way to lunch sometimes last week. The name had actually caught my attention. "Chinese Mirch". For those not familiar, "Mirch" is the Hindi word for a spicy chili pepper. I finally got to try the restaurant today during lunch with a friend of mine. It was such a refreshing delight. Located right in the middle of Curry Hill, on the corner of Lex and 28th, this Indian / Chinese restaurant was nothing short than excellent! Although small inside, the food was nothing short of heaven. Even though we tasted but only two of their main courses (I ordered the lunch special Hot Garlic Prawns, and my friend ordered the Manchurian Prawns). Both the entrees were full of robust flavor and spice, although not over-powering. For dessert, my friend tried their "Date Pancake" which was a crispy dough filling, filled with a date filling, fried, drizzeled with chocolate, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I could go on on and on about how good it was, but it's best that you brave the cold and get down there. It'll definitley warm you up.
