Restaurants & Bars 3

India Club, London

Maybe I was unlucky, maybe we ordered the wrong things, maybe it was Monday night.
Having set on an evening of gentle sounds of Lambchop at Somerset House I thought it was an ideal time to try the heavily Chowhound touted India Club as the Strand Continental Hotel is literally next door .
Things looked good as we climbed the decaying staircase and entered the suitably down at heel but busy dining room. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there. The only dishes that were above ok was the dahl and the dosa. The bhuna chicken was actually refrigerator cold in the centre. The other meat and vegetable dishes unexceptional. The fried chillies tasted like they had been made days ago. The rice was dried out.
From my experience last night the India Club is no better and in fact in some cases worse than most local neighbourhood Indian joints (and that ain't good).
