Thanks to those who reccommended North End establishments for me last night. It ended up being a bit too cold, though, so we wen't to The Independent Restaurant in Somerville.
The decor was cozy and slightly new agey. The staff was friendly and seemed to know the menu well. Very small menu. Only about 5 entrees. About $20 each.
There were two sandwiches for $9 each as well.
My wife had the roast chicken, which came with a garlicy leg and another spicy leg. Pretty good. I had the Roast Salmon. Served on the medum-rare side. Quite good. Served with Potato Gnocchi, a pretty wimpy serving though.
Overall, the bill was $65 with one drink a piece, and a beet salad appetizer. Good, creative food. Not much of a value. A little bit fu-fu chic for me...
