I'm working on a project and am looking for recommendations for first generation immigrant cooks living and working in the South. Big cities and restaurants are fine, but I'm also really interesting in finding immigrants cooking ethnic cuisine in smaller towns. I love a good road trip, I love great food and I love getting to talk to people about why and how they do what they do. Home cooks would also be great to talk to. Please point me to your favorites - who are they, where are they from and why do you like them? I'll be plotting a road trip (probably a few) based on your suggestions.
