Stopped in for a quick lunch at this little Italian deli, on a residential street in the middle of Medford. I'd tried a toasted panino on homemade foccacia (pretty good!) but this time just grabbed a slice of calzone (choice of ham or eggplant, took eggplant) and an arancino from the covered platter sitting out on a table next to some napkins and paper plates (all at room temperature). Both were very tasty, especially the arancino which was flavored with cheese and... bacon! or something awfully like it. Crisped pancetta maybe, but I think bacon. Not what I was expecting, but wow, what an excellent idea. Nice crisp crust too.
They also have a various Italian sodas and mineral waters, imported pastas, assorted jarred stuff, a lot of deli meats and the like, pasta dishes and pizza. And Lavorazzo gelato ($1.70 for one scoop). Haven't tried any of that stuff yet.
Not my idea of a destination but if you live nearby, check it out.
