I have just returned from my trip to Vancouver and had a wonderful time...thank you for all of the suggestions. I don't have time to go into all of them now, but evrything was great.
I did want to comment on one place that i didn't really see a lot of and that was Il Nido on Robson. My new wife and I tried the chef's tasting menu and were really suprised with the quality of the dishes prepared. We basically started by telling the waiter of any food allergies and then they took it from there. My wife started with a Tiger Shrimp salad that was prepared woderfully and really light (which brought out the flavors of the Shrimp) and I had a choorizo and bean stew that had really bold hearty flavors that matched very well with a Shiraz.
Next came the main course which switched the tables a bit as i was delivered a Salmon steak that was to die for. Very fresh and probably the only cooked salmon that i have ever enjoyed. My wife received duck in a maple syrup balsamic reduction. It was definately the heartier dish so we actually switched half way through, but both were excellent.
Finally we ended with dessert (which came off of the menu, but we did not choose) where I received a molten chocolate cake and the little woman received a creme brulee. Both were excellent.
At $45 a person, it came off as a pretty good deal and we were definately stuffed to the hilt.
I was just wondering if anyone else had experiences at this place.
