Just got back from trying this new place in Richboro, Bucks county. It seems to have only been open a few weeks. Decor is rich and modern and the menu is fairly classic italian.
Execution was spotty. On a Wednesday night the place was packed. we were seated and abandoned... after 15 min we flagged down the floor supervisor, who we took to calling Fabio...guy spends his time waking the floor, schmoozing the regulars, but didn't notice we had no menus, no wineglasses, wine unopened.
After 35 minutes a overworked waiter took our orders.
Apps were generous... we ordered two (salumi and marinated veg, and broiled mozzarella) and the two were just right for a table of six.
We almost got served another tables entrees but eventually got our own. One guy said his chicken parm was the best he'd ever had, another woman said her veal marsala was very bland. People were passing the salt around. I had a pasta dish with lamb shank and mushrooms.... there was in fact a little meat in the sauce but not what I imagined, and whole peppercorns that I learned to avoid. But the pasta seemed homemade. Another guy had a pork chop that was good.
They admitted the desserts were bought in.
Overall we gave it a "B". It's worth a try if you're in the area, just keep a sense of humor about the service and be patient. This place could be great if they can iron out the staffing issues.
