I always really liked this restaurant, but with all the new byob's in philly i hadn't been there in about 2 years.

Last night, hubby and i decided to give it a whirl (didn't feel like watching election coverage:)). It is better than I remembered it. Few people in the restaurant(of course it was a rainy tuesday at 8:45) but they say they are doing well. The waitstaff was very nice, didn't rush us at all even though we were the only ones in the place when they were supposed to close at 9:30.

Started with warm crusty bread and homade pesto dip and cannelini dip (yummm). Had the antipast sampler (it's a special but it's been there everytime i have). They have it for 1 for 8 bucks or 14 for 2. We ordered it for 1 and split it, and it was plenty for 2 for an app. It had olives, roasted peppers, buffalo mozerella, assorted grilled veggies stuffed with a variety of things (one egg, one italian bread crumbs, one salmon, one ground chicken, etc...) and a garlicky pile of broccoli rabe (very yum).

The dinner menu was different than i remember (better, the entrees seemed a bit more unique, and a little more variety for the non-seafood eater - my hubby, he is allergic) For dinner I had farfelle and smoked salmon in a brandied cream sauce, 14 bucks (fabulous, about a lb of excellent smoked salmon). Hubby had the special, pumpkin raviloi with zuchini and tomatoes in an eggplant cream sauce - out of this world! I was skeptical, but this was truly fantastic. The chef says he only makes them once a year (he makes them homade) and if i can't get this thought out of my head, we will be back for them this weekend :)

All in all a fabulous meal, on a typical night we wouldn't have needed the app (the portions are huge, but we were very hungry), but even with the app and tip it came to under 50 bucks. We paired it with two fantastic italian wines (cause they are byob) from a shop in South Jersey and it was really great evening!
