Hey kids, tomorrows the big day! Its the Chowhound Social Event of the season -- the time is 5PM on Saturday, March 9th and the place is No Idea at 30 East 20th Street, between Broadway and Park Avenue South. Spring has sprung, so put on your party shoes and well provide the napkins. A slew of folks are coming from far and wide, including chowhounds all the way from Boston and San Francisco. Our best guess is that attendance will be at least 40 and more likely to be more than 60. All are welcome, so come meet, greet, nibble a little, drink a lot, and have an overall merry time with all manner of posters and lurkers, grizzled chowvets and newbies alike.
Heres the list so far of the treats that various chowhounds are bringing along to sample:
Challah from the Rezeszowska Bakery in Greenpoint
Russian Chocolate Cheese spread
Bao (roast pork buns) from Mei Lai Wah

Please note: DO NOT BRING DRINKS. No Idea has very kindly allowed us to use their space for this event and in return we will be purchasing all drinks (beer, wine, softdrinks, etc) from them. We'll also have a tip bucket to pool a collective end-of-night tip IN ADDITION to whatever you'll tip as you drink. We feel that's only fair to thank them for being so graciously accomodating.
A good time is guaranteed to be had by all, so come on down. We're all looking forward to meeting you!
Please note: This is a private, volunteer assisted event. No agency relationship express or implied exists between any parties and Chowhound, Inc. This is not a Chowhound, Inc. sponsored event.
