Ice Cream & Shop(pe) opened last summer at Arrive Hotel in Palm Springs. I admired the cute aqua-colored ice cream pedestal dishes and asked that my order be served in one. Sadly, they're for display purposes only.

No extra charge for toppings here.

A single cup, $3.50, can have up to two flavors here. It's presented on a tray to catch all the self-serve toppings.

I tasted four flavors and settled on Pomegranate chocolate chip and Cappuccino crunch. I also sampled Date and Lavender.

I asked the source of the dairy used to make the ice cream. The counter staff did not know. But she did tell me that the shop contracts with an ice cream specialist who developed and produced the unique flavors.
