Hundreds of Cookbooks at Low Cost

Chicago news is that this coming weekend July 25, 26, 27, and 28 (2019) is the huge annual Newberry Library Book Fair where among the > 150,000 donated items will be sold hundreds and hundreds of COOKBOOKS at prices starting at $1 (half-price on the 28th). Hours are 12-8 on Thursday and Friday, 10-6 on Saturday and Sunday. The Newberry is bounded by Clark, Walton, Dearborn, and Oak. Parking is difficult but CTA will come through for you. All the classic cookbooks from all ages and times will be here. PS there are boxes full of pamphlets so this sale is always a good venue for hunting down some remembered pamphlet from ancient times. I actually found my great-grandmother's Spry shortening pamphlet that had the graham muffin recipe I remember her using. If you have the recipe, you CAN go home again.
