Read the thread on Huasteca in Lynwood. Drove from Newport to try it since it sounded intriging. It was worth the drive. Interesting Zocalo type mall and restaurant very atmospheric. Only problem was that size of the room and High open ceiling could make it acoustically noisey.
I had the conchinita pubil which was delicious. My wife had chicken mole which she said was also very good. We shared an order of corn fungus quesidillas which was plenty for two people. Very tasty.
They have a 5 course special every night around $20.00 which looks like a bargain if you like what is on all the courses. Also a Sunday brunch at just under $16.00 which we will probably try.
The menu has regional Mexican food from all over the country and will probably give a new meaning for Mexican food to many people who have only eaten Tex Mex or border food.
