Between hanging with relatives and the obligations that brought me to town I didnt get to hit too many places.Got into town late, so we ending up hitting Mai's at a relatives request. Had Vermicelli with BBQ pork and pork eggrolls. Liked it, but liked my sisters Salt Toasted Tofu even more. Had a quick lunch the next day at the Bahn Mi place in the mall on Milam. I forget their new name, but used to be the original Girvals. Tofu with extra pepper did not disappoint. Has to be one of the best lunch values in town. Breakfast following morning at New Orleans Po-boy. Nothing like a po-boy and fries for breakfast. Happy to see them busy after reading reports of the rail hurting their business. Had dinner at Tampico on Airline. Great seafood and pretty reasonable prices. I cant believe this was only my second visit to this fine establishment. Next day did a quick lunch at Kraftsmen Bakery. Had the "old school" sandwich. Good, not great and a little pricey for what it was. Coming back in a few weeks and hope to sample some other places, especially the newish Thai place that everyone is raving about. Thanks to all for the recommendations.
