So I was let loose in Chelsea Market, helped by a rain that prevented me from escaping the gourmet dungeon... in the end, I settled in within Amy's Bread, and ordered a Chocoholic Twist ($1.25) and a slice of Almond Brioche ($2.25) with a cup of double espresso.
The espresso comes perfectly foamed, with a nice crema on top in an Illycafe cup. But the absolute winner is the Chocoholic Twist, made from luscious bread soft and rich, together with bittersweet chocolate dotting the stick so rich that it took me by surprise as I bit into this treat. Together with the espresso, it was absolutely wonderful how the flavours complemented and resonated in my mouth.
The Almond Brioche was fantastic as well, with the almond flavours going surprisingly well with the coffee not unlike the way and almond biscotti goes with espresso.
Made me a very happy dog indeed. Plus they play a nice selection of Spanish/French jazzy vocals, which makes for a nice contrast with the usual headache-inducing rock and stuff.
