Hounds vs. Magazine recommendations

Someone sent me a slick San Diego mag and, skimming quickly, I found few if any common listings between its recommendations and C-hounds'!

A few years ago we went to George's and I didn't care for it at all. May have notes somewhere, but to this SF denizen it seemed like both a throwback to years ago before too many folks were really serious about food and a small-town version of the fanciest place in town for expense account dining.

The waiter was a smart-ass. There was that irritating hint of, "Aren't you folks lucky to be here!"

I've been downloading lots of suggestions for our mid-Feb. visit and am grateful to all the food-lovers for their thoughtful comments and look forward to even more before our trip.

BTW, if we're falling down tired and need a rest/snack in Bal Park, anything? (I couldn't find the word "espresso" in any rest. descriptioons on the Park's website, and I know that will be essential to keep me going.)
