For anyone looking for a nice hotel, one that I've seen
enthusiastically recommended on another message board is L'Hotel de la Montagne, at 1430 de la Montagne st.

Can't say I've been there (I'm a cheapskate), but
several other people seemed to love the place.

Food tip: I just read that only Schwartz's and The Main Deli's (right across the street from each other on St. Laurent) actually make their own smoked meat.
They are both slightly different, but about equal in
deliciousness, or so it's said. I will find out this weekend...ciao.
