Hosteria da Elio

We went to Hosteria for the first time last weekend. What a delight! The restaurant is BYO Italian and it is located near 3rd and South. It has two dining rooms a small one near the street and a larger one in the back.

The food is really wonderful. For appetizers we had snails in a garlic broth...there was plenty of dipping after the snails were gone! One in our party had the caesar salad which he seemed to like. I had the eggplant lasagne. It was very light with thin layers of eggplant, sauce and cheese. For entrees we had the veal canneloni in a blush sauce, my husband had the veal chop stuffed with cheese and prociutto and our friend had the veal parm. Everything is cooked to order and they are most accommodating to special requests. The quality of the food was comparable to some of other highly regarded Italian BYOs in the city.
Prices range from $5-$8 for apps, $10 - $25 for entrees. Most entrees average $14.
