My father's 70th birthday is coming up and he has requested that we celebrate with a Chinese Banquet. Any suggestions about where to go? My father is a true chowhound and very unafraid: when he was in China three years ago he traveled to strange restaurants on his own, ordered by pointing, and ate "birds on a stick" in back alleyways. So the more authentic the menu the better. At the same time I am looking for a place with adequate decor so as to not scare any out of town guests. Finally, although I could be convinced to host in Queens for just the right place, I'd prefer Manhattan, so the above-mentioned out of town guests don't get lost. Much thanks for your help!
