Horrible New Year's experience at Coco Roco

jb | Jan 2, 2003 01:58 PM

Has this place gone downhill, or was this an exception? I went to Coco Roco on New Year's Eve with a small group. Not only did we spend 3 hours there between waiting for a table and getting our food, but they were out of several entrees. Usually the waitress announces this before everyone orders, however I was not told until after the order had been sent to the kitchen (a big time waster). Again, I tried ordering a different dish only to be told they were out of that choice as well. When I finally found something they did have, it didn't arrive with the group's entrees. When it did come, everyone else was finished and it was minus the fried yuca side (they had run out). I sent it back--not hungry from the miserable experience at this point. I spoke with the waitress about some sort of compensation for our inconvenience, but she was not able to do anything. I used to like their food, but was shocked at the level of incompetence. I am never going back, as this has to be one of the worst dining experiences of my life and put a damper on what should have been a fun evening.
