Horrible experience at En Sushi, West LA

BabyLitigator | Mar 14, 200612:19 AM

So I was with some family looking for the Izakaya on Santa Monica, and it was closed, so we walked into En Sushi, which looked reasonably crowded for a Monday. Big mistake.

Started well eough, with some cold sake and decent sushi (salmon/toro/yellowtail/uni). The hot eggplant dish was a bit overcooked, but okay. Ceviche and soft shell crab were decent.

Then we ordered a hot tuna dish, and it came back incredibly overcooked and tough, to the point of inedibility (is that a word).

We then waited for our waitress (there were maybe three servers for 7 tables) about ten minutes to put in an order of eel nigiri, which hadn't come after a half hour.

It took another twenty-five minutes to get through the check.

Basically, the service was painfully incompetent and slow at a level I haven't seen in some time. I just needed a place to vent. Never going back. Last time I got to a random sushi bar.
