New Hope - Follow up

Several weeks ago, I asked for a romantic place in New Hope, and took up Ray on his reccomendation of The Mansion. It was a snowy saturday night, and a lot of other places had closed early, but our reservation at the mansion still stood. I didn't realize it was on the main strip, but still looked pretty from the outside, and and was equally pretty and cozy inside. The menu was slightly different from the one on the website (and 2 things that I really wanted we're on the menu anymore) but still lots of good choices. I'm vegetarian, and once I told the waitress that, she made lots of good reccomendations, and ruled out things for me that I couldn't eat. I ended up eating a vegetable napolean for an app, which was amazing, and for an entree they made a butternut squash ravioli, which was good, but not over the top. My date had a caesar salad with a beautiful presentation, and a filet mignon which he raved about. Desert was their bread pudding of the day, which was chocolate with a cappuccino sauce - yum!

The best part was that the place was romantic without being stuffy, and cozy without being crowded. The snow was coming down, and the large windows provided a great view of the snow covered trees. Dinner for 2 - 2 apps, 2 entrees and 1 desert cost under $80 - more reasonable than I thought it would be, and from the look of the place, I expected to pay more. Definetely reccomended.

While we were in New Hope, also had a great meal at Karla's. We picked the place our first night there because it was late, we were cold, and it was open. Another good pick, though I wouldn't call it romantic, it was fun and funky, slighly off beat with a creative menu (i had a pear and bleu cheese salad, and a pasta with spinach and sundried tomatoes - they were happy to hold the chicken). We also spent about $70 on a meal for 2, including drinks. A great fun choice, that others should know about.
