HOP KEE

wally | Nov 8, 2002 11:32 PM

went to hop kee recently, having heard it was really special, but left after ordering hot & sour soup that tasted just like ketchup. fortunately we ended up at vegetarian's paradise just up mott street (that place is fabulous) but i keep wondering: did we miss something? i'd heard such great things about hop kee but the dishes we saw being eaten at nearby tables didn't exactly set our appetites ablaze, and the prices were $10-plus a dish, which seems expensive for chinatown.
