I tried Ethiopian food for the first time recently, and although I didn't think the food was amazing, I can't stop thinking about the delicious brew I consumed. The waiter called it honey wine and it looked and smelled almost like fruit juice. I have done a search for Ethiopian food to try and locate a place to drown myself in buckets of the stuff, but have been pretty unsuccessful. Any thoughts? I have also heard it called "Mead" and was told it is not just an Ethiopian thing. I'd love to give my recommendation of the restaurant where I tried it, but it's in Berlin and the name escapes me.
