Homestyle Prix Fix meal for Birthday Dinner?

Teviya | Aug 27, 2003 12:34 AM

I am new to the Toronto area and my boyfriend's birthday is coming up, I want to take him some place nice. He would really like to have a buffet of homeade food, something like the restaurant run by the Amish where we are from, with fried chicken, catfish, greenbeans, blackberry cobbler etc...but after reading that Toronto lacks in quality buffets as well as homestyle foods I am at a loss, and think we will have to settle with prix fix dining in order to get the appetizer, soup, salad, main, and dessert at a low cost. We are willing to drive an hour or so outside of the city or anywhere inside the city and would like to spend no more than 60 dollars for the entire meal for two. We don't really need wine, just good food. We enjoy almost any type of food, if there are no good homestyle options. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thankyou.

I am not looking for Chains like Old Country Buffet...
