Most waffles are too sweet for my daily breakfast preferences. I love them as dessert (with whipped cream and fruit or chocolate). I love the way Eggos are more savory. I would like to duplicate this at home. Apparently I need some help from the "hounds".
First, I lost the sugar and the vanilla -- close. Later, I added an extra egg yolk for each egg (depending on quantity), and whipped them separately (yolks with the sugar till pale, whites till stiff and folded in). Now they are a little "rubbery" and still missing a savory something. Any ideas?
