I have a whole chicken, I am wondering if it's better to roast or boil it to make chicken soup. If I boil it, how long do I boil it for before taking the whole chicken out, removing the meat from the bone and adding just the meat back to the pot. When do I add the celery, carrots and onion in? Should I just throw the whole chicken away after I take the meat off the bones and toss the meat in the pot.
If I roast it then how long do I roast it, and at what temp? Do I just throw the bones away after I roast it and take the meat off it?
