They are now located in a beautiful, modern, space at the corner of Alameda and Bruno (a few blocks north of union station).
The new place is beautifully decorated with glass mosaic tile and granite.
The food is terrific as always.
The prices are unbelievably low.
They are only open for breakfast and lunch, so they close at 3.
This afternoon I had a wonderful lunch consisting of:
a bowl of roasted sweet yellow corn with cotija cheese and sour cream and cayenne pepper sprinkled over it served with lime wedges on the side (absolutely great)
a sandwich on a whole wheat baguette of cheese, tomato, red onion, jalapeno pesto, and lettuce. every single ingredient was top-flight.
the portions were huge--the sandwich was well over a foot long and there were over a pint of roasted sweet corn kernels.
chips and salsa (i believe the salsa is homemade) come with the meal.
the sandwich cost $7
the corn was $5
