After a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends in Huntington Beach we ventured out for some great meals!
The Cannery (Newport Beach): Love this place!! I had their Brie Salad- "to die for"-can't wait to get down there again to eat this!! Also, had the venison-med. rare and it was wonderful.My husband had the Cioppino and its one of the best he's ever had. Read in a previous post that servers were a bit inexperienced-that was more than a year ago and our server was excellent and very knowledgeable. Our reservation was at 8:30 and we were seated right away.Plus, everyone was friendly! Total with 1 glass of Shiraz and 1 iced tea was: $82.00 before tip.
We had our favorite sandwiches at Philly's Best on Brookhurst in Fountain Valley-we had the beef steak hoagies (with grilled onions). Bread (from Philly)
was soft and sandwich was heavenly-husband didn't even want a sandwich to begin with since he's now eating low-carb. Boy, was he happy! And, for those of you who are bothered by authentic or not-most of their products (Tasty Cakes, etc.) come from Phil. but, to me the taste is the thing and those hoagies are delicious!!
Just wanted to share some of our experiences since I have been helped here so much....
