My parents, son and his girlfriend came for dinner tonight. In addition to celebrating her 21st birthday, for me it was a private celebration of all that the home cooking board has added to my life.

Oven Baked Polenta (Paula Wolfert, The Slow Mediterranean Kitchen)
Milk Chocolate Ice Cream (David Liebovitz, The Perfect Scoop) ...(.not a COTM, but I have certainly developed the courage and curiosity from this board to have attempted homemade ice cream)
