There's a discussion on the "not about food" board about what folks are hoarding now that we've been told to prepare for the worst.
This got me to thinking...what are some of the 'hounds favorite canned and jarred/bottled foods?
Off the top of my head here are a few that we always try to have around (apocalypse or not). I particularly interested to hear what your favorite canned, bottled, or boxed broths are...
--Goya black beans
--Goya sancocho criollo
--mango slices in light syrup
(different brands found in most
asian grocery stores)
--vietnamese chicken broth (Knorr?)
(anyone know of any without MSG?)
--Roland brand belgian carrots
--Roland brand belgian peas
--green lentils (I forget the brand)
--stuffed grape leaves
--La Costena brand salsa (red and green)
--papas criollas (La Fe brand, I think)
--artichoke hearts packed in water
(Whole Foods carries some that are
imported from Spain and they are wonderful)
--garbanzos and lentils
(also at Whole Foods from Spain)
--Tofu (extra firm)
--Butternut squash soup
