Ok , we hit Chinatown , now the review

Rolled in about 1 pm & immediately went to Penang for lunch . I just wanted a light lunch , as I knew we were going to Lee How Fook's later . This turned out to be a pipe dream . I had the Baby Oyster Ommelette , which was somewhat thick & hanging over the sides of the plate . It was delicious . It came with a sauce , but it was so good I hardly touched the sauce . I also ordered ( foolishly ) the Java Mee . On first taste , I was surprised how tomato-ey the soup was . but after 3 or 4 spoonfuls , the heat set in & everything changed . This too was great . My SO had the Roti Canai app , & the Indian Mee Goreng , which I finished off this morning for breakfast ! After a few hours of shopping , we went down the street to Fook's . This place is TINY ! I still can't get over how tiny it was . I had the Hot & Sour Soup , and the Salt Baked Squid . Both were good to great . SO had the Winter Melon Soup & the Duck w. Ginger Sauce . Needless to say , we brought home a ton of leftovers .
Now , we both loved Penang & want to do that again , but I was a little let down by Fook's in a way . The way I was let down was that it really wasn't that much better then what I get here in Lancaster county at my favorite place , Grand China . They don't have squid , but they do have Salt Baked Shrimp . & the Hot & Sour is almost the same as Fook's was . Next time we may try Rangoon . During our down time in between eating , we did scouting out of the area , so at least now I know where all the places are I reading about on Chowhound !
