Any old timers out there remember a place in Old Town called El Charro? I mention it, because a relative, who worked at El Coyote in LA for 30 years ("not Mexican" but run by Mexicans and the first Mexican-for-Gringos hit in LA," acording to her) had for a time also worked at El Charro in maybe the 50's or early 60's. Everyone who remebered it said it was great, authentic and popular with Mexicans and non-Mexicans alike. As an added hint, someone claimed that the place was owned by the Cisco Kid's (the actor who plyed him) brother. When people tell stories about Chicago in the 50's, I get jealous. Sounds like a cool time and place.
