UGH!!! I hate Hershey's so much!!!
I baked the Michael Mina chocolate chip cookies again today, using mostly a chunk of El Rey 60% that I found in my cabinet (imagine my glee) and some leftover Baker's semi-sweet. Then I found a bar of regular Hershey's chocolate and decided to throw that in, too.
Long story short, the entire cookie has that horribly sweet, funny, chalky Hershey's taste. What a waste of my El Rey. I should have known better than to throw it in with the good stuff. I'm so mad at myself. Hopefully they'll be better when fully cooled, or with a slug of coffee. I'm just so sad that I wasted the El Rey. I can almost taste the wonderful flavors of the 60% competing against the Hershey's. Unfortunately, it loses.
So far, both Hershey's Special Dark and plain ol' cheap Baker's Chocolate have been fine in chocolate chip cookies.
