Heritage House was a good bet, and the fact that it was a stone's throw from my destination was a plus.
I opted for one of the chalkboard specials:
bacon - swiss - avocado omelette.
The bacon was somewhat overdone for my taste; THEN I added a bit of (good!) salsa that miraculously 'tied the room together'. Go figure!
The hash browns were plentiful (I never ate lunch today - no room!). They were dark brown and crispy without a hint of being burned, something I'd never experienced before - and I now crave. Also, they were well-cooked all the way through, which is all too uncommon.
My rye toast was devoid of butter, as requested. Too often, that request is ignored.
The coffee did need a bit of salt to cut the bitterness, but that is an idiosyncrasy that I acquired in the navy.
A great way to start a long day.
